Office Staff Attends ADA Annual Session
The lobby was where events of the day were posted and those all-too-important coupons for freebies were distributed.
The best office at the whole meeting. The ADA meeting serves three purposes for America's dentists. It is where the ADA House of Delegates meets to decide policy for a >100,000 member organization. It is where the ADA Councils get together publicly to debate and discuss issues facing their area of expertise. Public health issues (fluoridation, insurance, access to care) are openly debated and ADA policy formulated. Purpose number two is to provide in one location outstanding continuing education on a huge range of subjects. Practice management, pharmacology, periodontal and endodontic therapies, restorative and esthetic dentistry, anesthesia and sedation, gerontology, forensic dentistry, oral pathology, implantology, health and nutrition, safety and infection control, TMJ and TMD are among the topics of interest. And over 80 of the classes are available (if you couldn't get to all those courses in four days) on MP3 or CD. | |

We are always looking for ways to improve our office and your dental visit. That is why we attended the 2004 ADA Annual Convention. I took Pain and Posture in the Dental Office, The Medically Compromised Patient, Sharpening Instruments, and OSHA Updates. I learned so much in each of these classes and am excited to bring the things I have learned into the workplace to benefit the patient and myself. We had a wonderful time at the convention. Besides the continuing education, I developed closer relationships with my co-workers. Being in an office where everyone gets along is such a blessing. Dr. Fudge is so generous and so good to us. I feel so fortunate to be working in such a wonderful office.
As a new employee of 8 days, I was invited to join Dr. Fudge and staff at the ADA. This educational opportunity was something that had never been presented to me in my 21 years of clinical experience. I have learned many new techniques working for Dr. Fudge and have had access to some of the most current technology in order to provide top quality care. The courses that I elected to take covered care of the medically compromised patient, solutions for halitosis, ways to surgically correct gingival recession, and proper posture for the dental provider. I have learned that this office is totally committed to providing caring quality care.
